Abbey Home Media Delighted
at Double Whammy at Charity Award Ceremony
April 1st 2003
ABBEY HOME MEDIA were commended in two categories
last night at the NCH Challenge To Care Awards ceremony
in recognition of their continued commitment to the NCH
and other child-focused charities, including the NSPCC,
Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Pre-School Learning
Alliance.
Abbey Home were nominated, and given a special mention,
in the category of Best Marketing Initiative for Calling
All Toddlers 2, a completely not-for-profit pre-school
compilation video project featuring episodes of some of
the most famous and favourite children's characters such
as The Tweenies, Postman Pat, Maisy, Spot, Thomas The
Tank Engine and many more. To date £200,000 has been raised
from sales of the video and has been presented to charity.
In Addition, Anne Miles, Joint Managing Director of Abbey,
was presented with the award for Individual Supporter
Of The Year. Anne championed the Calling All Toddlers
2 project and rallied around industry players, uniting
them and gaining their support in what is normally a fiercely
competitive market environment.
Anne's NCH recognition comes soon after she was announced
Individual Of The Year at the BVA (British Video Association)
awards in October 2002, denoting a determined dedication
to both the industry and to those in need, which is widely
recognised.
Indeed, Anne is currently focusing her attention on Calling
All Toddlers 2 once again and aims to raise a further
£300,000 for charity with a renewed Easter push on the
title.
Abbey Home remain continually focused on raising funds
for underprivileged and abused children. The proceeds
presented to the NCH will help the charity to find families
for children either permanently (adoption) or long term
(fostering).
