caution. You are about to enter the Mona Zone….!!
She is the pint-sized girl with the gigantic imagination
who has taken the world of children's television by storm.
Since the BBC first began broadcasting her adventures
two years ago, Mona the Vampire has consistently been
one of CBBC's most popular cartoons.
The combination of Mona's funky, eccentric and outlandish
personality and colourful and unique animation has attracted
legions of followers. Now these fans will be delighted
to learn that this most magical of characters will soon
be making her VHS and DVD debut in a superb feature-length
adventure!
Released by Abbey Home Media on 10 March and supported
by a major nationwide TV advertising campaign, The
New Adventures Of Mona the Vampire will retail at
the fiendishly fantastic value for money price point of
just £7.99 (VHS) and £9.99 (DVD). One of the few children's
titles (apart from those released by the major film studios)
to be released on DVD, the format will feature a specially
created moving menu; a hilarious photo gallery and illuminating
character biographies.
And with each purchase accompanied by free fun make-up
to transform little treasures into little monsters, expect
this young lady to be spooking stores and terrorising
high streets all across the UK!
Like most children of her age, ten-year-old Mona delights
in the icky and the eerie. However, to better investigate
bizarre goings on, Mona takes her interests one step further.
All it takes is some of her mother's make-up, a dining
room curtain for a cape and some plastic glow-in-the-dark
fangs and she becomes her outrageously courageous alter
ego, Mona the Vampire.
But Mona's image isn't just a fashion statement; it's
a way of life. In her world, the everyday becomes extraterrestrial,
the mundane becomes monstrous and the simple becomes sublime.
Suitably attired and accompanied by cat Fang and best
friends Charley (aka Zapman) and Lily (otherwise known
as Princess Giant), Mona vows to track down all the weird
and wacky things that live in her imagination.
Our heroine isn't afraid of anything - except for maybe
cleaning her room - and in The New Adventures Of Mona
the Vampire, she has plenty to contend with. She confronts
ghouls, phantoms and a living scarecrow in a haunted graveyard,
uncovers the secret robotic identity of her babysitter
and even zaps herself into the computing world to banish
a vicious virus.
